First Foal for Gainesway Stallion Raging Bull Born At Checkmate

The first foal by multiple Grade 1 winner RAGING BULL (FR) (DARK ANGEL (IRE)) has arrived, Gainesway announced Saturday. Born on Thursday at Checkmate Thoroughbreds’ farm in Southern California, the CA-bred filly is out of the mare ASTOLAT (GB), by Camelot, and was bred by Checkmate Thoroughbreds LLC and Raymond Salvatore.

ASTOLAT (GB) will be bred to G1W HALLADAY (WAR FRONT) in 2023, who is standing at Harris Farms for his second year at stud. HALLADAY had a great start to his stud career, asserting himself in the Top-5 Freshman Stallions in America by Class Performance Index for mares bred in 2022.
